On July 22, 2009, the world lost a wonderful, creative, and loving young man. While hiking on Grass Mountain in Los Olivos, California, Denis Branan “Oige” Keane died. Temperatures on the mountain were possibly over 100° Fahrenheit and it is believed he died of heat exhaustion. He was 17 years old. While Oige is no longer here in body, his spirit lives on. This website exists to share memories of a unique and greatly-missed individual.
Welcome to the re-launched Oige Keane Memorial Website. This site was launched in June 2010 and replaces the last site. We are in the process of transferring and consolidating various pages. Sorry for the delay in assembling these materials.
To learn more about Oige, you can visit the Collaborative Scrapbook (Oigepedia). You can view the list of books that Oige owned, a list of his favorite movies, and a bio outline we’re working on. You can also view the previous site updates here. Otherwise, use the links to the left to explore this site.
If you have any stories, tall tales, photographs, videos, poems or any other memories of Oige that you’d like to share with his family (or online with the world) please send them to memories@oigekeane.com or send them along to the Keanes some other way.
